While Im not sure LA does that deal for POJ, Philly might take that 3rd rounder and Carter off your hands, but they may want a 2023 3rd, not 2024.
Philly lacks centers and with the amount of youth they have, a veteran and well regarded former player like carter would be a good fit at 4th line center (or 3C is case of injuries).
And while Carter is a cap move, I think PIT should be very hesitant about the overall team age. The lineup above has what 2 players under the age of 26? Two? In Smith and 4th line average Poehling. Its pretty troubling. And while the UFA signings of Compher and Ritchie are pretty solid and well needed, I'm thinking that PIT is in a crossroads NOW.
If PIT doesn;t make the playoffs this year, then you are looking at a team just one year older next with ALL of your key players really getting near/past decline. Im not saying they should become sellers, but I think they have to think long and hard when Crosby, Malkin, Granlund, Zucker, Petry, Letang, Bonino and Rutta are all well into their 30s and you've got 2 players under 26 yrs old
