Not sure what this one would look like but Niemela is the piece Philly should want. Really need to improve RHD and move off TDA annd Risto. And I just don’t see them moving TK, Hart.

Assume TDA for 2.5 for 1 year would move them off Ghost for more money. Doesn’t have to be Carolina though. Think they could find a place for him at that price for better than a 4th tbh.

You may be right. This post was taking deals that other fans posted. A CBJ fan posted this deal (with a 2nd and Boqvist). That said, Hayes for 3 years at 5 mill or slightly less isn’t just a cap dump, I would expect pretty great value if they’re eating 2.5 mill for 3 years.

And sheesh, a 2nd *and* Boqvist? Nah, man (to the person who originally posted that trade). Boqvist could fetch a 2nd+ (maybe a 1st to the right team) on his own, if he doesn't stay long-term with CBJ.

You guys have a dream pipeline for young defensemen for a trade with us though. What we need desperately. I assumed Boqvist is below Jiricek and Mateychuk at this point. Truthfully I’d do Boqvist for Hayes retained straight up.

LD is pretty set (if all goes to plan) with Werenski, Mateychuk, and probably Svozil going 1-3 (plus a few depth dudes).

Someone is going to get squeezed at RD, just not sure it is this year, or who it may be. Jiricek is, IMO, the only sure-thing. Peeke, Boqvist, even Ceulemans could be moved under the right circumstances. Gudbranson is most likely a burial/buy-out candidate in a year or two.

I believe in the kid's potential - there is no doubt he can score/ put up points. But he has his D issues, which are only exacerbated by CBJ's D being otherwise awful.
