Sadly it will cost you way more to dump Grubauer. No way Anaheim would take a 5.9M goalie, with a below .900SV% for 4 years.

Anaheim doesn't need a goalie, but if the Ducks did, they wouldn't choose Grubauer.

A number of problems with this trade.
1: Grubauer would be the backup behind Gibson, and 5.9 AAV is significantly too much to give a backup
2: Ducks need to start playing Dostal, acquiring Grubauer would block this.
3: Grubauer has a full NTC until end of next season
4: Grubauer's most expensive real salary year is next year
5: Swapping our 3rd next season for a 6th this season is no where near enough of a payment to sit 4 years of Grubauers salary.

Better bet would be calling the Oilers and seeing if doing a goalie swap will reignite either Grubauer or Campbell.

I apologize in advance for the following run on sentence. Wouldn't it have made more sense if you had just traded Grubauer in the flyers deal? Philly would get a goalie to replace Hart and the extra salary might be useful for them if they sell more assets for the rebuild that they seem weirdly adamant on avoiding by helping them stay above the cap floor, and you can just do hart for gru, don, 2 1sts and a 2nd, maybe even replacing donato with donskoi or something could also help dump cap.
