There's not a shot in hell the Rangers re-sign both Kane & Tarasenko at 7 each. Hell i'd say there's not a shot they'd sign either one of them at that price. Therefore, there's no chance the Rangers make that trade either, short of Florida's pick winning the lottery

Lets see if it happens. How many offer sheets has Gorton ever approved? How many RFA's do the Habs have that will need new deals in the next few years? IMO, there is 0% chance of an offersheet from the Habs, but dream all you want.

Obviously Kane and Tarasenko aren't being offered 7m by any team. But the Rangers do have cap issues.....Miller and LAF especially could be offer sheeted up to 4.3m, a second rounder and the Rangers would have trouble matching.

I think your points are not valid. The fact Gorton didn't sent any offer sheet as a NYR GM doesn't mean he won't in MTL. And last time i checked, Hughes was the GM.

Aho offer sheet worked out until CAR matched it, as they should have. Their loss is Aho is a UFA at the end of 2023-2024 season now.

KK wanted out of MTL after he got benched for most of the 2021 playoffs run. MTL got less than they would have like, but he was going to be traded anyway.

I wouldn't mind Hughes sending an offer sheet for Lafreniere or Dubois after he secure Caufield for the next 8 years.

They're both working together. I agree an offer sheet is unlikely, but with NYR cap situation, if any team were to offer over 6M for Lafrenière, NYR would be in a tough spot.

Wishing me good luck or pretending you 100% know how Gorton think won't change anything to the fact that a team could indeed snatch Lafrenière off the Rangers with an offersheet. Will it happens? Probably not. GMs are cowards.
