Maybe after the draft for that Detroit trade so the pick would be 2024. That pick looking like it could be anywhere from 15-20 so it likely too valuable to trade for us where we are. Kuzy is a really good player and would really help the wings but the capitals aren't going to trade him as long as Ovechkin is still there.

Not sure, also depends where that pick lands. We do need more high end talent which Kuzy can provide but his age just doesn't fit our timeline. Those first round picks are just too valuable to us. I'm not opposed to giving up a second round and maybe a prospect for him as he would fill an organizational need right now and would make our team better. I think the most it would make sense for us to offer would be our 2nd round pick in either 23 or 24, 24 would be most ideal, and a prospect like McIsaac or maybe someone like Veleno or Zadina to go with. Probably get more from another team if they could afford his cap which most can't.

The last thing the Canucks need is another expensive winger. The Canucks want young C's or D's under 25 years of age. Mantha is neither of those things, not to mention more expensive and less productive than Garland.

Think Caps would be better off just having Mantha at 5.7m for one season than 4.9m Garland for three years. There would be few teams if any that will be on Hall's trade list, that would willing to take on Hall's full cap for two full seasons. But if the Caps are on his list.....you might get for free. What choice do the Bruins have?

Garland is an expensive winger that has 3 years left who is 26 years old? you you think teams are going to trade you high end 20-25 year old defensmen / wingers for Garland? i assume gaining a 2nd for Garland would be ideal + gaining a solid middle 6 winger who has similar upside to garland. not to mention he only has 1 year left not 3...
