Quoting: Ritzy
I doubt Stammer gets more than 8.5M when he'll be 35+.
And even if he decides to hose TB for the first time, the cap is going up significantly in 2 years when he needs a new deal.
Still 26m to sign 14 players including Stamkos ,Hagel and when Seabrooks cap relief Contract expire's.
Not to mention whatever carryover there is from this summer signing Jeanot , Ross and 5 other players needing deals.
Even if lets say Jeanot and Ross each take 2m with minimum's x1 to the rest/their replacements.
That's 4m that carry's over against the 26m when Stamkos is UFA with Hagel and 12 others.
Sign Stamkos to 8.5m lets say Hagel to 4m thats 16.5/22m spent on 4/14 players with 5.5m to sign 10 players .
Event on all league minimums that leaves TBL 7/10 players signed on minums before they run outta cap.
TBL would have to skate a 20 man roster all year just to be compliant that's assuming Stamkos, Hagel , Jeanot and Ross all take a paycut .
Thats a tough sell with now LTIR relief from Seabrook that year . They can always acquire Weber's i suppose but but what will be the cost on that?
By that point most of the NHL's Contracts like Seabrooks will be up or expiring with less terms handing out terms as a reward.
Gallagher's the most likely person to be Retire on LTIR with a few years left on his deal at that point but anything can happen and provoke change.
Comfortably Stamkos would have to take 4.5m-5m is without moving anybody vital to be cap compliant with a full roster.
