Um sure, needed another top 4 dman way more then Jeannot though.

Julien Brisebois said Tanner Jeannot was his number 1 target and David Poile said he got more calls on Jeannot than any other Predator.

Tampa will be fine. This has been their m.o. the last 4 seasons, to have a 15 or so game stretch in late February to March where they look like garbage. I wish they would've acquired a depth dman like Kulikov, but McCabe isn't a top 4 in Tampa and wasn't really needed. Tampa is still only 5 points out of 2nd with a game in hand. Toronto looked real impressive today as well, getting beat down by the mighty Canucks, so I wouldn't be advancing them to Rd.2 just yet. About this same time last year, everyone said 1st round exit for Tampa as well during their slump. While the defense overall is worse this year, they have a better offense and they still have Vasy. With as stacked as the East is, I would take the field against any one team, but Tampa is still definitely one of 5 or 6 I could see making the SCF.

Trade for McCabe instead of Jeannot, send Perbix down to the minors as he's waivers exempt, carry 7 dmen and only one spare forward or risk Fleury on waivers and keep Perbix up.

They really don't have the space for him with the contracts they have, the players they need to sign. I also trust JBB, coach Cooper and the TB pro scouting.

Maybe this is the year the Leafs finally make it out of the first round? The blueline is weak and Vasy is going to have to bail them out more often. Tampa is lucky that the Islanders/Penguins are ahead of Buffalo/Florida/Ottawa. If Buffalo/Florida/Ottawa had the same amount of points as the Islanders or Penguins they would only be 7/8 points behind. With the way Buffalo/Ottawa are playing that would put pressure on Tampa. That being said I won't be surprised if Justin Holl hands Tampa the series win in Game 7 in Toronto.

TB goes 5-1-1 in it's next 7 everyone forgets about this hiccup
