There are many factors that make this trade ridiculous. Though Kane is a game changing talent, he isn’t young enough nor healthy enough to warrant this ask. The requirement would be an extension, true, but the term is too much. If you look at trade history, I’d put Kane at the Spezza trade level. A cost conscious active player, one projected A player, a B prospect, and a pick (possibly a second rounder). For the Spezza trade Nill stated that Nick Paul was the prize. Ottawa said that they were fleeced, but Paul developed into a damn good player. I think that for the Stars to make an impact on their roster, the add would be something like Kane. The question is if it is worth the cost. Chicago fans probably won’t be happy about the trade regardless. I don’t blame them. His image and what he has been to the franchise is unmeasurable. But this isn’t about what he has been, this is about who he is going to be to the Stars. Since this is the TDL, it does garnish additional Worth if the options are limited on if he will waive. Wither it be NYR, VGK, DAL, or another team, he will have a chance to continue his career on a good team that wants to extend him. The pucks on his stick, it’s his choice on what he will do with it.
