Winnipeg isn't taking a bad contract and two C prospects for Dubois.

Better yet they lose PLD for nothing next season but I do agree there is no trading going on between these two teams!

Why would they lose him for nothing? I think they'd trade him before that. That seems likea silly fantasy, not reality.

Just like Tavares on the Island, NYI got nothing. PLD planning to leave so the Peg won't get much from the Habs for him if anything. All teams know this so won't be offering much since he's essentially a rental.

No one cares what Montreal will or won't offer. If PLD won't sign in Winnipeg then they will trade him to a team where he is willing to extend, so he'll her better than a rental return.

Ok First off, after THIS season PLD, is a RFA....He also stated to the Jets Management that he would not sign a long term extension as he intends to test free agency as a UFA. HOWEVER, in order for him to do that he will need to sign a 1 year deal (Most likely with the jets) to obtain his UFA Status. OR Jets trade his rights away in the OFFSEASON, they wont trade him NOW, as they are most likely headed for post season. Jets wont be sellers they will try to add pieces, trading Dubois NOW for picks and prospects only hurts the team. IF he is traded in the offseason, WHOEVER trades for him would have to try and convince him to sign an extension, which he clearly stated he does not want to do, and sign him for 1 year, thus giving up picks and prospects for a guy to walk in 1 year. IF I am the Habs no deal is done UNLESS an extension is signed. (Personally I dont want him on the team, also I think he is looking for his pay day, and some American team with less taxes is where he will go).....Just my thoughts. So all depends if PLD was serious about going to UFA, or just told that to the Jets because he doesnt want to play in Winnipeg.
