Boo’s and “Fire Hextall” chants tonight in an ugly loss. I’ve been a Pens fan since 87 put a Pens jersey on and I haven’t seen the fan base this upset during that time. I honestly have no clue what Hextall is doing or what his plan is. I don’t even really think he knows either.

I do know this team can win a Stanley Cup still with 87 playing the way he is, as well as Malkin and Letang and the rest of the top 6. Jarry needs to stay healthy as well.

This team desperately needs multiple trades to transform their bottom 6 and D. Trades happening every day. Lots of great opportunities are being missed. After tonight, I would think a move is coming for sure tomorrow if he has any sense?

I know everyone thinks Jeff Carter could never be moved, but I’m pretty sure a young, rebuilding team would take him for 1 more year and he would waive it if convinced. You could also get him a great winger and hope he rebounds or a center to move him to the wing.

Kapanen in trade rumours. Makes sense.

McGinn needs to go. Hasn’t got a point in 24 games, longest stretch in the league. Doesn’t hit. Doesn’t contribute anything. Weird because he is a good player and has been for us. He is another Pen who will go to another team and automatically start contributing again. This happens a lot the last few years.

Blueger is snake bitten. He is a trade piece though and I think you move him to change the chemistry in the bottom 6.

POJ/Smith/Rutta are all fine but could be moved for another piece.

If a deal for a 1B goalie comes up, I would take it.

Heinen can be moved. Another good player who will play well wherever he goes.

O Connor can be moved. He is fine but hasn’t been able to carve out a role.

Pens draft picks this year and next should be as good as gone IMO. There is no reason to keep them, at all. The core deserves to go for it. If you aren’t going for it, trade 87 and don’t let him rot here in Pitt.
