Theres alot of useless junk in there, disguised as value. Whats Anderson worth - a 6th? Whats expiring UFAs like kerfoot and holl worth to CHI? Negative value. Whats Robertsons value at the moment? A late round 3rd? Whats a 3rd in 2025 worth at 2023 TDL?

I think you might get Kane at 50% for that pile of junk, but they add 2 more players (AND retention AND multiple year retention)?

Joey Anderson has virtually zero trade value, UFAs Alex Kerfoot and Justin Holl have only a bit more value than Anderson to a non-contender like Chicago, and Nick Robertson's injury history render him a question mark. So this trade is the future first, Niemela, the over-the-horizon third, and a little more for Kerfoot, Holl and Robertson collectively for Kane with 50% retention from Chicago (you're stretching things), Domi with 50% retention (now I think you're over the line), and McCabe with 50% retention (now it's a clearcut No). To look at it another way, using up Chicago's three retention slots plus McCabe is certainly the equivalent of the first, Niemela and the 2025 third are certainly not an overpay for Domi, and that leaves Anderson, Kerfoot, Holl and Robertson for Kane. I don't think that that's nearly enough.

You could take Kane out of that trade and CHI still more than likely says no.
