Girard's numbers are actually much worse than i realized, price of assuming everyone on COL has good advanced stats. That and, I thought he was right handed. This doesnt really help Buffalo either. I guess hes kinda like the Avs version of Samuelsson in that, the adv stats may not fully capture his value. Regardless, probably don't need two of them on the team.

Why would COL do that? Like CF people diminishing Girard’s value because he’s small. The guy is 24 locked up long term and is a top 4 dman on the cup champions. Explain how a guy like Chychrun who’s offensive numbers are similar to Girard, Girard actually has better possession metrics but Chychrun is worth 3 1st rd picks and Girard is worth spare change found in the cushions.

Fair point, I am a hypocrite here. I take issue with your second point. Girard is a bonafied top 4 ld/rd all situations dman. A bottom 6 winger trying to figure out how to be a nhl player and a 2nd is not a fair trade.

Mittelstadt has played relatively well given his deployment, especially early in the season when Olofsson was putting in 0 effort and he was essentially the only player on that line who was consistent. That said, I don't necessarily disagree that the value is off, but Girard also does not look like the player from 20-21 which many AVs fans still seem to value him as.
