In effect you paid a late first for 50% retention for Tarasenko. So for Kane, two firsts, a second and third and more? . Who are competing against. Gee even Horvat was a first and second.

At the end of the day, I wouldn't be upset if this were the return for Kane. But the picks should be 2023 and CHI really doesn't need more left handed defensemen. Also, extra retention should cost a 3rd tops to the right team, and Byron shouldn't cost a prospect and a 2nd. In fact, Byron should cost next to nothing. So that is way too much going to MTL.

Byron will have a value because he will be put on LTIR, and that's will help the NYR for their cap space.
