I don't see him as a fit in Anaheim. we have a potential clone in Girard with Zellweger, and we have Mintyukov, and Lacombe, and possibly Thrun, on top of still having Benoit and Vaakainen and Fowler. Girard is a great player, but he is not the kind of player that Anaheim needs.
I'm going to stick with my view that "Prospects are simply prospects, until they're not". Yes, a couple of years down the road there might be a logjam, but if that happens, you simply move prospects for a proven player to go elsewhere in the lineup.
I absolutely get where you're coming from, and I absolutely hope every one of those guys works out, but you know what you're getting here in Girard, which is likely the ceiling for most of the kids.
All of that being said, Colorado most assuredly is not trading Girard away for Rico, so we might as well stick to trying to get a 2023 1st (+?) for him
