I think Faber came down to crisis management. If you recall, Blake invited him to the team suite on the road trip last season when they played against the Wild. His NCAA season had ended, and they invited him to sign his ELC and finish the season with the Kings. He declined, saying he had unfinished business with U of Minnesota. Signed Faber is not expendable. Unsigned Faber was. However, Faber being gone still leaves a void in the prospect pipeline, as the Kings don't have any remaining defensive RHD in the system. This is also the reason why I say Matt Roy is not available (before Faber was traded, he might have been). If Faber had signed, I don't think the Kings would have made that trade for Fiala.

Iafallo is locked up long term to an incredibly team-friendly $4M AAV contract for 2 more years. There's no replacement that can bring what he does to the lineup for that AAV. The coaches love him, and next to the residual Cup winners, is the second longest tenured King remaining (Kempe is 1st by half a season). I can't see him being moved.

If the isles trade pelech, it wouldn’t make sense for iafallo to be involved. Pelech is one of the best two way top pair defenseman in the game on a steal of a contract, kaliyev o would have to be involved
