-Boston doesn't need to give up Lysell to shed Reilly's deal - either they include him or Craig Smith as offsetting cap in a deadline deal this year, or they send him out for FCs to an Arizona or Anaheim this summer. They also don't really need Schenn - Connor Clifton has been a very good RD3 at a cap hit very comparable to Schenn's ($1M vs. $850K). Schenn would be 7th D on this team, so even without this insane cost, I don't see them pursuing him.
-This is probably fair value - I like the idea of swapping the two players that seem to need a change of scenery, and I agree that Minnesota would need retention and that adds the 3rd. If I were Bill Guerin, I'd think about throwing in a mid-tier prospect to see if Vancouver will give full retention and make it more or less cap neutral - maybe someone like Ryan Healey or Kyle Masters (RD prospects that are 2-3 years away)?
-I don't think Vegas should be adding anyone with a $5M AAV right now - I'd want to figure out exactly what's going on with Mark Stone before making a commitment like this. I'd also want to hang on to Brossoit for right now, since we don't know what's up with Logan Thompson's knee - if Thompson needs some time on IR, and they trade Brossoit, their goalie tandem would be Adin Hill & Michael Hutchinson - no thanks!
-I would think Washington passes here. If they need to free up cap this season, Lars Eller's expiring deal is probably first out the door, and this summer they have enough expiring deals that keeping Mantha's contract around wouldn't be too onerous. I'd also think that Washington would rather just staple a pick to Mantha if they need to dump his money, instead of giving up a legit 2C prospect in Lapierre - Nick Backstrom is 35 and has struggled with injuries the past few seasons, and Evgeny Kuznetsov is already 30 - they're going to need youth soon, and I think they give up a future pick over a guy who's already developed in their organization.
-Garbage deal for the Kings. Turcotte is a former #5OA who's had some concussion issues slow his development, so this would be selling low on him; Kupari has middle-6 upside, and Cal Petersen's put up a .919 SV% in his AHL stint so it looks like he's put himself back on track. Rathbone is no longer a prospect really, and Demko is hurt and coming off the worst stretch of his career. This is a ton of value to give up for the Kings, and I think they would pass on this.
