Vegas rests stone for the playoffs, takes advantage of LTIR space…

Insert Patrick Kane and Jonathan Toews. Two big fish rentals who they would have the cap space for and the assets to acquire is right up this teams alley.

Theoretically figured that Kane would get a Giroux like return… player, 1st, 3rd. I figured a reduced return with Kane having a higher cap hit and has struggled relative to expectation this season. Toews maybe fetches a first with retention especially in this package? The value might not be perfect but Vegas has additional assets they could spend to make this happen…

I could see him getting a 4th, big defensemen do tend to go for more than expected at deadline time. His inclusion was more of a defensive placeholder for depth

I’m not a Vegas fan but i think that’s overly steep for them… Hague is a top 4 d in the near future it seems and Acciari even though he’s a solid 4C and good for playoff hockey, isn’t worth giving up Hague for imo.

I think they have enough assets, it’s just a matter of whether they’re willing to or should give up that package. They are a win now focused organization and have been notorious for hunting for the big fish… i could see them doing something very aggressive this TDL.

Exactly the type of player the Blues need....Big top4 LD. Maybe we go Vladi, Mikkola, and Accairi for Hague and 1st. I think they would have to consider espcially if in win now mode. In this case Vegas may need to add another prospect or roster piece....not sure who though.

that's really steep for kane and especially toews. friedman said they're looking at maybe a second or third for toews.
