Rangers will not get any big fish without giving up 1 of kakko or laffy. You have to give to get. Everyone always tries to leave them out. But that’s your trade chips, either it be Kane or Meier, you will need to give one of them up

Problem is they cannot re-sign Meier (even if they did trade Laf for instance.) Meier gets 9 mill probably they can’t do that regardless who they’d trade

There isn’t a chance in hell anyone big goes for Kane. Meier possibly but the can’t re sign Meier pretty much under any circumstances. So he’ll probably be traded to someone else at the end of the day

Sharks will maximize the return and if lack of cap flexibility to sign him lowers the return then Grier shops him elsewhere. Grier can't afford to lose a Timo trade, its a massive move for the organisation.

Yea. I agree with all that. Rangers just can’t trade laf or Kakko for a rental, albeit the best one out there. Laf or Kakko would 100% go for Meier if they could keep Meier Chytil and miller. Idk if that’s feasible

Grier knows nyr prospects well. What about Othmann, Cuylle, Kravtsov and a 2023 1st. Still underwhelming for SJ but it's closer.

Meier, yes. But at this stage of his Career, Kane will not reel in either of them.

The ask from grier is apparently 3 different options.
a first and an A prospect, a first and 2 B prospects, or B prospect and a young NHL player.

Kratsov would be a B prospect(not due to skill but his leaving for russia ****) , korzack is a C or B prospect depending on where you look at him. And 2 firsts. Jones is absolutely a B prospect.

Jones needs to be in the NHL next year. He’s just not what WE/NYR need. He is a PP QB of someone’s future, but we have Fox for who knows how long. So he’s almost useless to us

Jones for Megna is a good deal for both teams imo. Why would SJ want Megna at this stage? He’s 30 I think. Jones would really benefit playing under Karlsson as a mentor for the PP. Jones is a good player
