Description
Trade Timo at the draft to recoup picks or in off season for a hockey trade to get defenceman
Could also sign Timo long term and trade one of big 4 players

Trading Holl and getting Benneing is a lateral move but Benning has term of cheap so it’s worth it.

Laughton is a good 3rd 4th liner who is producing well and can replace kerfoot at end of year.

Acciari is the perfect 4c and brings experience

Engvall is fine but definitely expendable due to not being physical

Benoit is just for depth, idk what he’s worth so if it’s more then pick someone else for extra D depth for playoffs

This makes team more physical and be playoff ready

Under no circumstance do I give Dubas the permission to trade a first round pick for a bottom 6 forward. No matter how tough he is.

Trade Kerfoot to EDM instead of Engvall. He might not be physical, but his game is a helluva lot better.

I'd do the Meier trade all day

As much as people hate on Holl, he's been solid for us, logging big minutes at a minimal cap hit. I don't think we get that much for him, but I also don't think we should move him. Even as a 6/7 Dman, he has value to this team. (I don't think anyone has eve said this on this site, but it's true)

If physicality is so important to a successful team, why are the players you obtained all from non playoff teams?

Playoff teams don’t trade away these kind of players because they are valuable and they know it. Playoff team have these kinds of players especially the ones that win cups just look at Tampa

I think Holl is a fine defender but Benning is basically the same as him and is under control for multiple years after it so the team basically loses nothing and you trade him for cap space and picks which Toronto will need

Engvall is not better than kerfoot. Kerf can play centre if he has to can produce more offensive and is very good at PK. Engvall is fine but produces less and plays less. Also have heard kerf is a big dressing room guy and I don’t like the idea of taking someone that everyone loves out of a room mid season.

You may not want to trade a first for a bottom 6 forward but that’s the price for a heavy guy that is locked up for years. Tamp use a first for Coleman and a first for Goodrow in the same year. The Laughton trade is comparable. Trades like this help you win a cup.
