He's been solid with Detroit and has made Hronek a better player. Than he missed 4 games due to pneumonia and Lalonde placed him on the bottom pairing to build his strength back up. So it's kind of affected both his and Hroneks game a little.

Matta has kind of had a resurgence. With the supply on rental depth D not much and Matta making his game simpler by focusing much more on D and not making mistakes, he's done very well letting the other D (best paired with higher OFF D) make more plays. I think the value is a 3rd, but probably gets a 2nd due to demand on playing top 4 mins and supply issue.

i dont think the trades help for this year but they get us out from under a few unsavory contracts . with the exception of the demco. i realize he is a risk but if he can stay healthy hes a step ahead of jarry in that department.

That vancouver trade is bad. Demko is a downgrade from Jarry and you are paying more for him? There is also no reason to get Maatta. If you are getting a LD it's to replace Dumo on the top, not slide POJ over to a spot he doesn't play.
