What's in this for the Flyers? I like Laughton's fit here, but he's worth a lot more than a bust prospect and a 8th defenseman.

Laughton is the next Captain of the Flyers. He’s the only one who Torts has given a letter. Don’t see a world where they trade him unless some team overpays.

I think you have to look at Laughton, his production, usage, abilities and at 3mil for 3 yrs, he might get a late in the round 1st from a contender and more.

I would say a good example would be based on the Leafs (sorry Leaf fans, not necessarily them, its just I know their draft picks):

A top 5 prospect in system that PHI wants/needs and some solid picks, for example:
RD Topi Niemala
2024 TOR 2nd
2024 TOR 5th
2025 TOR 3rd

So the offer you've presented falls well short. Although since COL moved both their top RD prospects last yr, maybe something like Laughton and RD Ronnie Attard for COL 1st 2023 and COL 2nd 2025 kind of thing
