Valid question! Hawks did send Stillman back. He probably had some value. And Dickinson was for 2 seasons. I'm assuming since this is a 23-24 Sens team this happens after this season is over, so only 1 year of Zaitsev. But you could be spot on. If Sens insist on the 2nd being their 2024, maybe Hawks ask for something else.

I'd prefer 2023 2nd, but not opposed to it being 2024. Kinda contingent on Hawks moving 1 or both of McCabe and Murphy though. Don't really need more of a logjam. You see how that is working this year with JJ.

Not only is it just for the 1 year. It would likely be after his bonus is paid. So in actual salary it would be $2.5 million with a $4.5 million cap hit.

I don't know much about him tbh but I've heard that he's having a very bad year this season. If he is indeed a tough defensive player I would be interested in signing him.
