This is much less risky than giving up a 1st for Patrick Kane or Bo horvat . Vrana is one of the best finishers and skaters in the NHL

TBH I don’t think he should make it to the islanders. You gotta think the coyotes or ducks would claim him even if they want to lose games. If he does clear, then it’s about **** that is bigger than hockey.

I’m assuming Detroit shopped him and everyone told Yzerman to take salary back or no deal. Now he is on waivers. Not saying he should clear, but I’d be stunned if they didn’t put him on waivers without a reason

He should be claimed before the isles, but it’s no guarantee. Isles could have had a cheap Tolvanen a few weeks ago , he should have never made it past Arizona

Wouldn’t be the first time the Isles took a chance on a guy who was down on his luck. Lehner was a risky pick up who turned out to be a Vezina candidate, locker room guy and fan favorite. If any team has shown they can handle this type of situation well, it’d be the Islanders.
