Description

I just want a bigger Gavrikov Holiday dinner picture. Also if there's a guy I'm comfortable with the Jackets potentially overpaying for year 4-6 of a contract to play 3LD it's Gavrikov.

An interesting thing about Laine, his contract expires the year before Michkov would be able to come over to the NHL. Would be an interesting situation for the Jackets to be able to maybe part ways with Laine for a significant return in 2025-26 and then add a potentially better winger into their lineup the next season at no cost at all.

I don't mind Zaitsev so much on the CBJ if the return is good enough and they do move out a couple of the current RD since he would only be around for 1 year and that's at least what Ceulemans will need before he's ready for the NHL full time.

Also, yes I know Canucks fans. Podkolzin would actually cost Johnson, Jiricek and the CBJ 2023 1st. Whatever you say.

I don't know.. Podkolzin is too promising to trade this early
But the Blue Jacket pick should be in the top 40 in a deep class
I'm not too sure about Boqvist either, he doesn't look like the stud he was projected to be
Canucks would take a long hard look at that

I think he's a decent 2RD and a very good 3RD. For only being 150 games into his career he has shown some great development the last couple years. The Jackets just really need to start turning some of their excess young RD into assets before Jiricek and Ceulemans force them to take worse trades.

Boqvist is definitely one of those guys that you can believe has the ability to be a solid top 4 defenseman, but he needs just a little something more to get there. He's still only 22 so he has a lot of time to find it at least.

I probably wouldn't propose trading him if Jiricek wasn't looking so good, Ceulemans wasn't lining up going pro next year, Bjork hadn't suddenly emerged as a legit NHL defenseman and Blankenburg hadn't come out looking like a very solid depth player that probably deserves regular NHL time too.

Yeah St Louis kinda seems like a good spot for him. Potentially a lot of spots open for him next season and he only has 1 year left on his contract if he doesn't work out like St Louis would like. Pretty low cost, low risk move and Roslovic gets to stay in the US if it's true he doesn't want to play in Canada. He might be worth a bit more than a 3rd, but I doubt it.
