Minnesota probably just keeps Hartman over paying two seconds to not even get better.
    Edmonton should do that one.
Not that the rangers would be interested in trading Laf, they don't have the cap for Anderson.
How does Hoffman get two seconds? I don't even think he has neutral value even after scoring a couple goals, which is the only thing he was ever good for not good at the rest of the game.
No one is taking Armia unless there is a substantial sweetener attached, the other two there will be gone at the end of the year.

Minnesota might trade Hartman for Dvorak with 50% retention. They might even add something like a fourth, but not a second, and they certainly aren't interested in Drouin,

You'll be lucky to get a third and a fifth for Hoffman.

You're right about Armia's, Dadonov's and Wideman's values. But someone might give you a monkey point for each.

Lol stop please. Zone coverage is a blog and this isn't what they suggested. Minnesota isn't trading Hartman to take on your cap dump in Jonathan drouin. We don't need Christian Dvorak. Nobody is paying for your things or giving you better player

We can’t retain 50% on multiple years, which makes a Dvorak trade unlikely. The same would be true for Armia and he would have very few teams looking at him.

I thought about making a more realistic Lafreniere offer but honestly I’d only do it once the stupidity cools down.

IF there is a Laf trade to be done with these 2 teams, the best time (for MTL) would be in the offseason after the draft. MTL should not move their '23 picks (1sts) imo. Offseason trade I'd send '24 1st (top 5 protected), '24 3rd, Ylonen (who could take the same deployment currently as Laf but at a much lower rate), + MAYBE one other small piece or take back something NYR want to dispose of in return.

Would that get beat? Likely. Should MTL be gutting their picks and prospects for Laf? No.

Dach (3rd overall in the same draft) returned a 1st + 3rd and can play C (something more valuable than just a winger). Laf has had less than stellar seasons (yes I know he's likely to vastly improve but he won't do so on the 4th line) and I'm not willing to move the farm for him just because he's from Frenchland.

Whether anyone agrees with me or not, I really hope MTL does not make a move for him until at least after the draft...if at all depending on the price. I also understand that NYR will likely want more and that's fine, send him elsewhere if you can get better.

My early offer is something along the lines of the Florida 2023 1st, Kidney, and Xhekaj.

Decent offer imo if we were to try for him this year, I just personally hope we don't do it.

Honestly most of the 1st round for the '23 draft is going to be better than Laf I believe, and Xhekaj is going to be a headache to play against for years. Kidney is probably expendable now but I don't like the idea of moving a C for a W when it won't be the final piece to the puzzle.

With the way proposals are going on here though, nobody likely agrees with either of us...
