This makes less than zero sense for NY. Mangiapane hasn’t been good this year and he has a worse contract than bailey. No reason for NY to want to add his contract.

Dude has 15 points and he’s been terrible based on his contract value. I’m not sure what makes this different than Boeser.

He’s shooting 9.9% , his 3 years prior he averaged 18.5%. Regression to the mean will happen soon. He’s a legitimate high end top 6 winger. Mangiapane drives his line, Boeser is a passenger. There’s the difference

I’m sure shooting 18% is easier when you have Gaudreau and Tkachuck on ur team. Even if they aren’t playing on the same line, the quality of ur top scorers directly impacts everyone else.

Isn’t the NHL package basically just ESPN plus now?

Players on other lines have 0 effect on your shooting percentage . Is barzal the reason why Nelson has been on a shooting bender the past 2 seasons?

your guy jfresh has him as one of the best forwards in the league. Even if you don't think he's that, at worst he's a high end 2nd liner.

Nelson is a terrible comparison in this scenario. He is way older than Mangiapane and his development as a player took a unique route.

That being said do you really think the fact that Mangiapane’s shooting percentage was cut in half after both of Calgary’s top line wingers left is a coincidence? Come on bro. Your production is always impacted by your teams performance as a whole. Calgary lost two top line wingers, Kylington is out and the whole team is in free fall. If you can’t understand how that impacts shooting percentage than there is no point in having this discussion.

There is no correlation between players on different lines and shooting percentage. Please find me anything that states otherwise.

If he played on a line with either of them you’d have a point.

The team not in free fall lol, you clearly haven’t watched them. They are getting terrible goaltending and are still in a playoff spot.

Nelson is also the ideal comparison , the age difference means nothing.

Hockey is a team sport. I shouldn’t have to point out how a players production is impacted by matchups and opportunity. His shooting percentage got cut in half the same year the teams two best players departed. It’s not a coincidence. I mean the dude had 8 power play goals this year, and has 0 this year.

Meanwhile you can’t compare Nelson to Mangiapane based on the fact one is a center and one is a wing. There’s a multi year difference between the two. And Nelson isn’t shooting 9% right now.

Mangiapane’s line Is always matched up against top lines, last season and this season. his quality of teammates is higher this season that it was last season. His most frequent linemate this season is nazem kadri, who is miles better than anyone he played with last season. So his role last year was more difficult than it is this season because his linemates were worse. Mangiapane is one of the best finishers in the NHL, unless you think the guy you always cite is putting out bullsh*t information

You should go read up on shooting % , it is literally the easiest thing to predict.

Age does not matter when it comes to finishing. Age only impacts the ability to generate shots

It’s pretty much impossible that Mangiapane faced top competition at all times last year given the fact that last year Gaudreau, Tkachuck and Lindholm were the first line. You would think they are facing the toughest competition out there smh.

Dude is averaging half a point a game rn. And he’s doing it right after his teams two best players departed. He has no power play goals 30 plus games into the year. That’s not a coincidence bro. But I expect nothing less from you given some of your more outlandish JT Miller and Bo Horvat takes.

there are some hockey fans out there that are too stupid to understand basic things like shooting Percentage averages and regression to the mean.

It’s like saying Pettersson was regressing a few years ago when he was just shooting way below his career average
