Probably a fair trade based on what Dach and Romanov got

Why are montreal fans obsessed with getting Quebec guys like cmon just because they're local doesn't mean they should go for everyone of them (Dubois, Laffy others too) I swear mtl fans see a French guy and don't even look to see if it fits either team and just keep making deals for them. That and trading dumps for positive value ig that's what's consistent with capfriendly at the end of the day

Rangers aren’t going to trade Laffy for futures. They are a win now team.

They are 5th in their division so they aren't even that. But doubt they do MTL any favors here. Value might be fair, but the rags are going to squeeze MTL if they really want to bring him home.
No reason for NYR to do this otherwise.

Yes agree, but why should NYR do MTL any favors? smile I wouldn't if I was Drury.

They currently sit in a wildcard spot and are on pace for 100pts this season. Slight regression from last year, but still no reason to start selling the farm.

The Habs need young wingers. Laffy is a young winger. And the fact hes french is a bonus.

Heres an idea, you use those futures for deadline acquisitions or like any successful team, have a influx of futures joining the team while youre contending

The Habs are doing the Rangers a favor. They get crazy value for a guy playing on the 4th line. Or would the Rangers rather wait 3 years and lose him for nothing out of spite

Not all Habs fans care about players being Quebecois. I don't live in Quebec so don't care one bit about a players origins as long as said player improves the team.

No it is not. And I am not sure about playing in the post season for NYR either.

I’m all for Laffy being in Montreal. Just can’t see the Rangers giving up on a 1st overall pick right now. In 2 years if the habs are contending would you trade Slafkovsky for futures if he’s still a bottom 6 winger?
