Seems pretty close to me considering the Zaitsev dump could cost as much as a second on its own. I will admit I do not know much about Jarventie though.

Agree w/ @DangleCat. I think the Hawks accept if they like Jarventie. If not they ask for another F prospect like Ostopchuk. But this deal checks the boxes for the Hawks

This isn't a knock on Ostapchuk, but Jarventie is definitely the one we want.

I think this might be a little short, but I would be more inclined to do this trade with a Zaitsev dump involved. IMO, Lassi doesn't have nearly as much value as Jarventie. I could absolutely be wrong, but I have considerable doubts that Lassi will even make it beyond the AHL. Also, Pinto isn't eligible for arbitration. So, his QO with max performance bonuses is only $1.325M, if they want to go that route on a short term deal. But he could end up commanding a decent pay day in two years when he does become eligible, so locking him for longer at a higher salary could be a smart move.

Lassi has more value. He's a former 16th overall pick playing top pairing in the AHL. Hasn't done well in the NHL thus far but he hasn't had any support on his pairing. Dmen take time to transition. Brannstrom is now one of our best dmen and has like a 58% xGF% this year but took time to mature.

More value than Jarventie? That's debatable. At this point, where they were drafted makes no difference to me, I'm more worried about how their development has gone up to now. I understand development curves and all that, and I understand RHD are generally more of a premium asset, but I disagree. I watch a lot of AHL, Juniors, College, and European hockey, and I personally see more value in Jarventie. It's also worth noting that CHI needs forward prospects much more than D. If we were looking at RHD I would be much more interested in JBD, but OTT fans seem to believe he is untouchable and I don't feel like having that conversation any more than I already have over the last year or so.
