BUF
  1. Fabbro, Dante
Détails additionnels:
Rumors are Nashville is ready to move on from Fabbro. He is a right shot D. relatively responsible in his own end and his QO will not be high. He fits our age range.
NSH
  1. Johnson, Ryan [Liste de réserve]
  2. Poltapov, Prokhor [Liste de réserve]
Détails additionnels:
NSH is known as a defensemen building. Johnson would get an opportunity to sign there or they end up with a 2nd round comp pick. Both help NSH. Poltapov is a talented winger, lacking some size. NSH has little offensive prospects.
2.
BUF
  1. Kunin, Luke
  2. Meier, Timo
  3. Choix de 5e ronde en 2023 (SJS)
SJS
  1. Olofsson, Victor (1 500 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
VO for Kunin and a 5th. Other assets come from NJD.
3.
BUF
  1. Holtz, Alexander
  2. Leddy, Charlie [Liste de réserve]
  3. Tatar, Tomas
  4. Thompson, Tyce
  5. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (NJD)
NJD
  1. Meier, Timo (3 000 000 $ retained)

    BUF
    1. Spacek, David [Liste de réserve]
    2. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (MIN)
    Détails additionnels:
Future RHD depth piece and a 2nd.
    MIN
    1. Fitzgerald, Casey
    2. Mittelstadt, Casey
    Détails additionnels:
Fitz and Mitts seem to be Granato favorites. Fabbro makes Fitz expendable. Mitts has the best trade value since his draft +2 season. Adams is not tied to him. MIN is also going for it with a need of cheaper players come the next two seasons due to cap jail. Both players fit their current model.

Clague has proven he can be a 6/7 d-man with ability to move up short term.

the 3-team trade is one of the weirdest trades I've ever seen on Capfriendly.

You’re definitely right in all the points you made about Nashville, but I have to say that they’d decline this. Fabbro probably would get more and Nashville only has two NHL-caliber RDs, so we’d have to get someone back that can play RD right away

Just genuinely curious, why wouldn't the Sharks just trade Timo directly to New Jersey if thats the return? I don't see the Devils giving up extra assets to send him through Buffalo, especially when the Sharks can retain on Timo themselves.

I'm not familiar with Fitzgerald, but the Minnesota trade makes sense on the merits you presented. I could see something like that happening.

    1. It fits my narrative. (Snarky response)
    2. Someone will need to take salary back from NJD to make the deal work and I can see them retaining on other players (Bonino & acquired Tatar) they may consider moving.

There is a chance of that happening. NSH has had guys play their off wings. I am not sure how much more he could really get. He isn't a big point producer and it isn't like he is a pure shutdown guy either. I figured a "B" forward prospect and Johnson who is a "A-/B+" defensive prospect or if he fails to sign a 2nd round comp pick would be fair. All comes down to what Poile sees as potential value.

Thats what would happen. No need for a third team to help and lose 2 extra assets

A few things wrong here though.
Tatar isn't a capdump, he's playing some of the best hockey of his career and moving him out for Meier is a somewhat self defeating purpose.
If the Devils would need to move cap back for the purpose of facilitating a big acquisition, it'd be Andreas Johnsson they'd be parting with, not Tatar.
Also, taking on a 1st, Holtz, Leddy and Thompson on top of Tatar for Meier retained is an overpayment to the extreme, say nothing if there isn't a reasonable extension attached to Meier.

It's a terrible move for the Devils, Meier is amazing but not worth all that.

Considering the scarcity of young D men that are available, Fabbro’s will fetch more than he’s worth. For me, I’d look at the Nils Lundkvist trade as comparable and we might even get more than that
