If Caps did his it would be a straight up swap, no 1st or Iorio thrown in. Yes I know Nylander is a better offensive player but you know damn well the intangibles Wilson brings as the one and only player like him.

As a Caps fan and a Leafs fan, this trade stinks for the Caps. Take out Iorio and the 1st and replace it with a 2nd and then it’s a better deal market-value wise that the Caps still probably don’t take as Wilson is irreplaceable. As a Leafs fan, this trade makes no sense as Wilson won’t be healthy until February at the earliest, and the chemistry Nylander has in the top six isn’t guaranteed with Wilson. Both sides wouldn’t do this deal, I think. It’s a cool concept but it’s definitely the wrong time. I even did an ACGM based on this trade once but it just doesn’t make sense for either side.
