Description
This is all in good fun. So don't be an idiot. These are just my opinions and deals I think are possible. It is quite possible all of these players are gone from Montreal by the TDL (I think Dvorak will be a draft day deal).
Transactions
1.
MTL
ANA
  1. Dadonov, Evgeni (2 500 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Anywhere for anything. Someone might take him at 50% retained for playoff depth.
2.
MTL
  1. Johnsson, Andreas
  2. Choix de 4e ronde en 2024 (NJD)
NJD
  1. Drouin, Jonathan (2 750 000 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
NJ gets a 3rd line player (@$2.75M) to help their depth, and Montreal takes a cap dump. Probably a fourth or conditional third coming back.
3.
MTL
  1. Gurianov, Denis
  2. Khudobin, Anton
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2024 (DAL)
DAL
  1. Anderson, Josh
Détails additionnels:
I really hope I am wrong about this deal. The rumors are that there is a small bidding war for Anderson, which means you may get a very hefty return. But right now, this is what I think would be realistic.
4.
MTL
  1. Choix de 1e ronde en 2023 (COL)
  2. Choix de 3e ronde en 2025 (COL)
COL
  1. Monahan, Sean (3 187 500 $ retained)
Détails additionnels:
Colorado would need to make a separate move to clear cap tp make this deal work. Or Montreal takes on some cap in this deal (i.e Compher). But this would mean Montreal would not get a first, which I doubt they would want to do.
5.
MTL
  1. Barrie, Tyson
  2. Puljujärvi, Jesse
  3. Choix de 2e ronde en 2023 (EDM)
  4. Choix de 3e ronde en 2025 (EDM)
EDM
  1. Edmundson, Joel
  2. Hoffman, Mike
  3. Choix de 4e ronde en 2023 (VGK)
Détails additionnels:
Hoffman for Barrie is a straight swap.
Edmunson will get a return similar to Chiarot from last year. With Edmonton wanting JP gone, I think this deal would be close.

COL trading a 23 1st for Monahan is only happening in MTL fans heads. It isn’t happening.

I think these trades are all tilted in Montreal’s favor. Maybe the Edmonton one is closer (only because it seems like Edmonton ACGMs have soured on Barrie/Poolparty).

Avs decline, you’re not getting a 1st+ for Monahan. Isn’t he injured right now anyways?

Finally someone who doesnt massively overate habs players too much. Im really happy with most of these deals, even tho I still think we are receiving a bit too much, but nothing major.

Only thing I cant see happening is the andersson trade. I dont understand how this guy wouldnt be a cap dump in a trade.

I think we are gonna get a 1rst but not from Colorado if he stays healthy. He is currently listed as day to day

These still favor Montreal, but they’re wayyyyyy more reasonable than most Habs fans on this site. I’m really hoping we aren’t targeting Anderson. I just don’t see how he isn’t a cap dump. Most Montreal fans seem to think he’s worth a first and then some and I just don’t see the production to make that a reality. GMs do seem to value guys like him, I just hope our GM doesn’t. Very reasonable post tho. Cheers

Barrie for Hoffman isn't a 1-for-1 deal. Barrie is more valuable than Hoffman based on position and current performance. Since the swap wouldn't save EDM cap, either, there's zero point to even consider the idea. Not even sure where I stand on the rest of the deal as a result.

What if Montreal took Foegele as well? I had that in there first, but changed it.

Flames fans told me the same thing when I had the Habs taking Monahan and receiving a first for it. Maybe they won’t, but I think Colorado is desperate to make a move. I do think they will get a first, or a second and prospect. Assuming he keeps playing well, and stays healthy.

Honestly, I wouldn’t want Montreal giving up much to get Anderson and his contract. But there are obviously something to all of the rumours that many teams are in on Anderson. And everyone knows how much GM’s love Anderson type players. Regardless of their production.

Talk about a uniformed take. COL is only desperate to get healthy, and not just because they have so many players out, but because of it they are using LTIR and not accruing cap space. Accruing cap space was always the plan from management because they knew they didn’t have the additional resources to pay for retention. But go ahead and revel in being right about a trade.
