I rarely question refs but in this third period Detroit has gotten away with a murder.

Walman and Chiarot are quickly becoming some of my least favourite players. Cannot stand guys that make stupid, dangerous plays and then immediately try to attack you. Shades of Pierre Luc Dubois

The officiating against the Leafs recently has been some of the worst I have ever seen. I'm not saying it's because it's against the Leafs, but the current state of the officiating system is baffling. There needs to be more clarity on what is called. I'm sick of goals being offside by half an inch and getting called back, or plays being called whenever the refs feel like it. There NEEDS to be more clarity and more accountability for the officials who blatantly miss calls and genuinely sway the game. It is infuriating. At this point we are better off just getting rid of officials all together, it is and has been a detriment to the game

That had to have been one of the most infuriating Leafs games I've watched in a while. I genuinely wonder how the NHL finds officials to employ. There must be some kind of shortage thats causing them to just hire anyone, thats the only logical explanation

I see why Chiarot got a 1st this man can cross check players in the face, trip players and not get called

Also gets the dumbest goals

The fact this wasnt called is embarrassing for the league and both those refs should get a serious talking to by the league. Bet u only way they call it is if Bunting starts bleeding like Rielly

Love Wayne Simmonds but he doesnt do a thing and as we saw tonight was not a deturrent for Chiarot

Just waive him and use the space as we saw scoring depth aint great. Like ironically we didnt actually score Detroit scored every goal that game

Garland is perfect for the Leafs!

After a night like tonight, the need for more scoring is so prevalent. When a team like DET just sits back and only sends in one forchecker, the lack of skill in the bottom six is soooo noticeable.

I love Bunting but god help us IF Matthews goes and we have Bunting signed for like 8 years. He is not noticeable at all offensively without Austin.

And I know everyone loves Rielly but fukc me he can’t quarterback a PP. I’m not putting the total onus on him, there were other passengers tonight, but if he can’t create any offence, he is so ineffective. I’m going to hate his contract.

Sucks that BOS lost too

I will be shocked if Garland and Boeser are not traded. Either this year on the me summer. They need to free up cap space, find another 2C, and upgrade the Dcore

Considering how absolutely and staggeringly stupid the Canucks brass are i wouldnt be shocked about anyone moving or not moving. Theyre totally delusional and that makes them complete wildcards.

Garland and BB might get moved. They also might get 8@10 contract extensions when the time comes. Who knows

Yeah a Garland type player would've been especially helpful in a night like tonight. My point was moreso that Garland is the victim of an egregious penalty and there was no call haha. There are some big inconsistencies that Dubas needs to address at the deadline. Meier fills a lot of them

Agreed. Our bottom 6 is to defense orientated. Add someone's who are known scores who can drive play and chip in goals

Like if Leafs could trade out Kerfoot and move Kampf and Engvall to the 4th line perfect.

Honestly a Centre might be the need more so than LW. As if one of JT or Matthews goes down the C depth is just not enough to make it not noticeable. But if there is cap for a wing on top of a 3c do it

In general just someone whose more offense orientated. Like when it comes to our bottom 6 its defense first.

Someone who when the big boyz cant get it done they step up

Like to me if u can get Kampf and Engvall to the 4th line, move on from Kerfoot and create a whole new third line that can be considered another 2nd line we set.

These are the holes I see

Bunting-Matthews-Nylander
Jarnkrok-Tavares-Marner
Nied-Holmberg-Bjugstad
Trenin-Kampf-Engvall

Rielly-Brodie
Gio-Liligren
Sandin-Timmins

Murray/Samsonov

Im wondering if NYI continue to struggle Dubas should eye some of their guys. As NYI are one of the few teams to give Tampa headaches next to CBJ. Like targeting guys who have experience fighting Tampa in the playoffs on multiple occasions might not be such a bad idea.

Even if NYI were to sell off some of their forwards (which they wont), I don't see many fits on forward. There are exactly zero players that I would want from the Islanders that are expendable for them

I got a feeling they have plans to move on from either Pageau or Bailey considering Raty's emergence

Pageau would make sense and is a playoff performer

After thinking it over this is a nice path for Dubas to explore. There is another one but its kind of boring

Henrique and Jenner bring in some vet presence and can add some scoring depth while keeping with the defense mentality

I went 7 D as honestly we got 7 good Dman and we really dont need a complete 4th line. Like what we saw with Tampa in its past 3 runs just go 7 D
