If they had a good idea they could extend zacha i think it’s a solid offer.

Problem is, we’ve seen what happens when debrusk is in the bottom six. Not interested in seeing that again.

If sj moving Timo that means they're moving deeper into a rebuild aka not acquiring a veteran. From Boston it would take Lysell+.

This deal doesn't do anything for SJ at all

San Jose has zero interest in a pending ufa with 3 goals for a star rfa who can score 40 this year

Zacha isn’t exactly ancient.

A first does something.

It really isn’t. A pending UFA 3rd liner and a pick at the bottom of the 1st doesn’t cut it anymore than it would if that was the offer for Pasta if the roles were reversed. Swap Zacha for Debrusk it’s closer. But if I’m SJ it’s Lysell or pound sand.

I agree on not putting Debrusk on 3rd line.

Right so my comment regarding the extension kinda takes the pending UFA thing out of the equation.

No guarantee for one and it doesn’t matter, he’s not that quality a piece. Contract or no contract

He’s been in the league for 7 years, he is what he is, mediocre 35 point 3rd liner. Combine that with a pick that right now is 31st, which was a 2nd round pick just a couple of years ago, for a guy with 99 points in his last 103 games is pretty laughable honestly. Especially when factoring he has no trade protection, they are not limited. They’ll get better offers.

Maybe. I think that QO really hurts meier’s value.

Essentially i think it’s going to be very similar to rental market value.

Meier is a premier top line power forward on pace for 80 points, 35+ goals and you somehow think a career 3rd line veteran with average numbers and a late 1st is going to get Boston Timo Meier.

Mate, you're not even close.

Timo Meier for BOS’s 2023 1st (glorified 2nd rounder), Fabian Lysell + Pavel Zacha is fair value

Well you just made up a whole bunch of things i didn’t say.
I didn’t say he was a third liner
I didn’t say he has average numbers
I didn’t say a late first is going to get him.

Just bonkers how off you were. No need to be this defensive.
