This is what every Canucks fan says but please show me anything that suggests Myers should be anything more than a bottom pair defender who plays on the 2nd pp? He's big, but doesn't hit, has a long reach but a bad stick, he's supposed to be a good defender but his team gets shelled when he's on the ice. His advance stats suggest he's more of an offensive defenceman but doesn't score or add any offence. He's a bad player not worth his contract, even at 50% he's overpaid. If he made 1.5 million he may have some value but not much. At 3 he's overpaid, at 6 it's one of the worst contracts in the league.

Toronto is not the right fit for Myers. I think you can get something in return for him with retention despite his poor play. He fits the profile in a league with old school mentality and some teams may be needy after free agency gets going. Dubas would likely find a vet RHD for cheap. He's been able to navigate some bargains with the cap constraints.

I'm just not sure we need Boeser right now, unless we trade Olofsson in another deal. Otherwise, they will have to play on the same line and it is unlikely that it will look good.
