No problem with that trade. Romanov is a cheap, 22 year old defenseman who has been half of a solid second pair with Noah Dobson. The isles are kinda in a win-now spot, so trading an 18 year old prospect that needs 2-3 years to develop for a fully developed, capable, while still very young player is a fine move in my book

Eberle was a cap dump at $5.5mil, the JGP trade was fine at the time and the extension would be fine too if he wasn’t our third line center, and the only bottom six forwards he’s extended have been cheap deals to capable players
