lmao in what world is Philly rebuilding? They are trying to win and management has continually shown that is their goal.

I think they probably keep JVR in this instance and ask Van to retain half of Horvat instead. I think philly is going to have some serious interest in Horvat so this move wouldn't shock me one bit.

They wouldn't move 5OA for DeBrincat and they wouldn't move their 2023 1st for Gaudreau, there's literally 0 chance they move both for a pending UFA who is worse than DeBrincat and Gaudreau

The pick was the price to move JVR, which without doing they didn't have the money to sign Gaudreau

That was before a strong start to the season and before they knew couturier would be out long term. Philly mgmt loves winning and probably spent a lot of money hiring torts this summer.
