The start starts with a 2023 1st+top goalie prospect, really hard to gauge what a goalie would go for, it's usually less than an equivalent dman or forward but not necessarily.

Leafs don’t have what it takes to acquire Demko. For the Devils, I would be looking at Nemec, or an unprotected 2023 first + blue chip prospect

I agree with you that Leafs wouldn't have a strong package to offer, but there's no way Jersey would be giving Nemec or an unprotected 2023 first. They might be willing to give Daws+2023 1st (with at least top 5 protection)+Severson and some (maybe a blue chip prospect as you suggested).

I don't see why NJ would give up Nemec unless he's not that good or the trade is a 2 for 1.

A 2023 unprotected first may not be out of the question. New Jersey is looking very good. With Demko, there is a very good chance they are a playoff team

What would VAN need to add to Demko to get Nemec?

True, but they will limit it to either top 3 (for sure) but I feel like top 5. Goalies aren't taken that high these days, so they should be able to have a go at getting an elite player/repacement at 6-15. Not sure how he ranks among goalie prospects now, but I remember Daws being rated well. Severson is a ufa but he'll sort of be the guy that if they can sign him Vancouver fills a need with him (he's 28, but should still be good after a 2-3 year rebuild). Then the prospect or sweetner would be there too, perhaps it would have to be a 2025 1st.

Vancouver wouldn't add, I meant Nemec+a piece for Demko being the entire package, so it will be very hit or miss for Vancouver.

I think Nemec for Demko would be a 1 for 1 I’d be 100% willing to do if Vancouver decided to sell

Each side would think it's a 1 for 1 (NJ might even think Nemec is worth more) but Demko is a proven elite goalie getting paid regular starter money for the next 4 years. Nemec is a defensive prospect (his value is due to potential), so for Vancouver to even pull the trigger they would need some sort of sweetner won't be big though most likely.

Vancouver would be better off trading him for more pieces, even if each individual piece isn't as valuable as Nemec, overall the package would be just as valuable or nearly, and there will be the potential to get more which is what they would want in a rebuild.

Just think of the Chychrun situation, ARZ is saying he's an elite young D but teams aren't buying it, they are saying he's good but not that good plus he's coming with injuries. Vancouver would have a much better chance in proving that Demko is elite, even if some of his stats might just be good. The fact that he's only getting paid like a good starter helps them.

For Leafs: Kallgren, Knies, Sandin, 1st for Demko + Myers (50% retained), if Knies is overkill, the maybe Niemela
Devils: In my opinion, don't have any assets to my liking, I think Buffalo could be another team looking to get in on this, they could give us Luukkonen, A-tier prospect, Young roster player + either a 1st or a 2nd varying on who the prospect and roster player are. Florida could be another team, but they also don't really have assets to my liking.
Basically, for Demko; S-tier goalie prospect(Luukkonen, Kallgren), A-tier prospect, young roster player, either a 1st or a 2nd depending on who is in the package.

You may as well just hope you never have to move him because you will be gutted by the return. Andersen had similar pedigree and results as Demko and it was a late 1st and a 2nd. Of course Anaheim had Gibson but still no goalie has received the kind of return you want.

I don’t think the Canucks need that goalie prospect that much. From everything I’ve seen it sounds like the club is very sure of Silovs as the goalie of the future. I also think the Buffalo package is too much. If want an A tier prospect, a first, and either another A tier prospect or an equivalent young roster player

        Devils package --

        One of - Blackwood, Vanacek
One of - Daws, Brennan, Schmid, Brady
One of - Mukhamadullin, Walsh, Casey
        One of - 2023 top-10 protected 1st, 2024 1st

        Or maybe some thing like…

        One of - Severson (extended 6 x $6m)
One of - Daws, Schmid, Brennan, Brady
One of - Foote, Gritsyuk, Zetterlund
        One of - 2023 top-10 protected 1st, 2024 1st

I think the list of guys we would take off the table in Demko trade would be fairly small. Hischier, Hughes, Bratt, Mercer, Siegenthaler, Hughes, Nemec (and Palat, Hamilton as NMC’s). Marino, Holtz and Sharangovich would be maybes.

Leafs don’t have what it takes to acquire Demko. For the Devils, I would be looking at Nemec, or an unprotected 2023 first + blue chip prospect

Literal bananas offers for a .910 27 year old goalie canucks fans need to get a grip especially after the entire summer of 2nd overall and Bratt for Miller

Literally nobody proposed that. Perhaps looking more than just save percentage. Clueless fan with a clueless take
