Walsh seems to be a good/decent RD prospect from what I hear. The question is would Boeser fetch that return if he were to be traded this year.

edit: Guessing you meant someone who can help now.

Walsh is a solid dman at AHL, especially at 5v5 situations. I think his offense is probably a little overrated and defense a little underrated. Maybe he would get some PP2 time eventually. Good on rush offensively, but not really a puck distributor from point. Is a little more physical than people expect for guy his size. Can play LD too. I think his upside is similar to that of Justin Schultz or maybe a righty Nick Leddy. Floor is maybe undersized 6/7 guy. We have only seen him for one game at NHL level, so very much still a prospect. He is probably a very moveable piece considering we have Nemec, Casey, Mukhamadulkin, etc in pipeline. And he will require waivers next season, I think.

A cheaper, but maybe more fitting option for Canucks may be Case McCarthy. He is a stay-at-home RHD with some bite to his game. Plays at BU now. Has traditionally partnered successfully with offensive LHD (Cam York, David Farrance, Dom Fensore). Could fit nicely as future 3rd pair option with Rathbone.

The pick would be the sticking point here, and that will depend on where we are in standings.

The devils are much better this year, but i still don’t think they’ll be in the business of moving a 2023 first.

Yeah, I was thinking would anyone want to even trade a current 1st for Boeser at this stage. His primary asset is his shot, and from what some Vancouver fans have been saying on here, sounds like he's lost it. He only has 9 shots on the season though, so who knows.

Perhaps remowilliams meant D-help now.

Another day and another Nucks fan completely overselling their assets.

For ALL the garbage Devils fans took that even the 2OA wasn't enough for Miller, and now they go back to it with an underperforming player for premium pricing.

I’d still be all over Boeser as his skill set is still fitting for our needs.

I do like the fit, especially with his cap hit for the next 3 years, but I still don't think at this time Fitzgerald would give up that the 2023 1st for him. Maybe we hear those Severson for Boeser rumors again, I could see a package like Severson (assuming they can't get a 1st+ package elsewhere) + Walsh + a 1st (2024 or 2025) for Boeser if the VAN is still struggling but he's doing okay (scoring goals at least).

It’s a little rich for me. Severson for Boeser with small additions and extension for Sevs seemed to work before. But if Devils keep playing well, I don’t think they sell a dman in season.
