Personally I don't think he's re-signing with the Blues. I think some team would be willing to give him the Kadri deal (7 x $7) and Doug Armstrong can't/won't do that kind of term and money.

A report came out though that the NHL salary cap, set to probably only increase by $1 million to $83.5 in the 23/24 season, could increase by as much as $4 million the year after.

$49 million over 8 years would bring the cap hit down to $6.125 AAV instead of $7. I don't think in a million years that Army does it. But I wanted to see what it would look like.

Find a way to trade Scandella's contract which, with only 1 year left at that point, is hopefully doable. Give that money to Mikkola/other defenseman/forward.

I love mikkola but I just don’t see it with the other guys we have. If me moved leddy I’d love for mikkola to play on Parakyo pair as they worked very well together
