Stars are robbing everyone

I think every team here gets a little bit of something. The Stars clear some cap space and effectively turn Seguin into Schenn, while shedding a **** ton of salary. But Buffalo's made some real strides, and if Giroux and Debrincat makes Ottawa a contender on paper, I don't see why Tarasenko and Seguin couldn't do the same for Buffalo here. They'd get some quality veteranship, get out of Skinner's contract and they wouldn't have so much pressure on Tuch and Thompson to be a franchise forward core on their own.

St. Louis to me is the closest thing to a loser but I view them the same way as Minnesota and Nashville; good? Hell yes, but Tarasenko and Schenn are players that are honestly the type to do more harm than good and Tarasenko in particular probably wants out anyway; if they can shed that salary, to me it'd be realistic to assume they'd survive Jeff Skinner's contract. Personally I think it's Buffalo- a Seguin bounceback like he's showcased shortly into the year here could be huge for Buffalo and Dallas would be more than willing to sell him off. And St. Louis getting Benn also adds a bit of grit that could really complement somebody like O'Reilly, especially since Kyrou realistically can be the real umph of that line.

Usually you're talking about a gritty RW, good 2-way center and speedy, talented LW; having the inverse as a 1st line could benefit St. Louis supremely by virtually guaranteeing some mismatches against most opponents. It worked out really well for Boston, having a do-it-all 1st line, but it is risky I'll certainly agree there. If Benn underperforms like most would expect him to, it'd be ghastly but if you're St. Louis running face first into the end of a contending window... you're willing to take big risks. Not saying it's the *best* move but it's one teams in their position make historically.

Uhh the Blues are not doing this trash trade, they don't need a retool and they sure as hell aren't handing Schenn to a rival. And on what planet do Tarasenko and Schenn do more harm than good? This is all beyond hideous.

Horrible offer for the blues. They get saddled with the skinner and Benn contract which are Garbage. Rather have Schenn and let Tarasenko walk for free then accept those 2 contracts. You would have to pay the blues heavily to destroy their own cap space by taking on Benn and Skinner. Tarasenko just scored 82 points and Schenn scored 58 points in 62 games. Plus we still need to sign ROR and Barbashev next season and having either Skinner and Benn both tank that idea

Just awful for Buffalo. Team looks much improved this year, and this would just blow it all up for older players with high cap hits and worthless picks. While also giving up their first.
