Holden is actually quite effective in a bottom pairing/PK roll. Issue for you is he isn't a big shiny name.

Holden is a decent depth option. Holl is a decent 2nd pairing option. That's a big gap

Not as big as you think. Holden played some comparable minutes to Holl. Comparable skill set.too.

Here is my point: I would be willing to use Holden in absence of Muzzin if that deal (which makes no sense) happened.

The Leafs have 4 NHL ready LD (more if we include Brodie).

The issue here isn't who is better. It is strictly positional.

not really no, Holl plays significantly harder comp and does heavy lifting on the PK. Holden doesnt play special teams at all, and even if he was an RHD he couldnt be used the way Holl is

No team should put holl on the 2nd pair. Not sure I’d even want him on my 3rd pair.

well considering he's light dead smack in the middle of the road for abilities for a 2nd pairing defender, that's half the league that he'd be a 2nd pairing defender on

That isnt true at all, The leafs said Holl (and others) were available and no one wanted to make it worth the Leafs price. The coyotes have been shopping Chychrun for like 2 years now and he's still there. Does that mean no one wants him?

Also, Sens are not trading Holden. The guy is already a legend in the locker room. He is a great insurance policy stop gap veteran, and cheap too.
