If they sign him to a 9.5 - 10 long-term deal, then you are not going to be able to keep one of Powers, Quinn, Krebs or Powers.

You have to give to get. What would you give up Thompson for? Also, there's a big difference between 68 points in 78 games and 79 points in 74 games.

Yeah, I saw how Sens give for DeBrincat, I evaluate Robertson as well as him. There is also a difference between a center and a winger. I wouldn't trade Thompson for Robertson and ten points difference in the last sseason doesn't do that for me.

50 goal players don't just magically appear. It is exceedingly rare to get one. Robertson has the potential to be that, but he's more of a 40 goal player. Agree with the future of Buffalo being bright. I posted this trade not because I think they should do it, but that would be my offer to Dallas as Sabres GM.



100% Robertson will play at that level or higher for many years. He is an absolute beast. He's worth 9-9.5 mil for long term, Dallas seems to be hesitating to pay him that which is rough. Skinner AAV not great but he is still a great top 6 player. He will get 30+ goals a season for the foreseeable future. A better AAV for him would have been 7 mil. But honestly for a team with tons of cap space, 2 mil difference is nothing

My response is more on cap going forward, and the build of a nucleus before the big move, right base set up in Buffalo, and a ufa could hit that lineup and hit the ground running. There’s lots of kids in the lineup that they need to figure out before they add that final piece type move, and when they are that close firsts are going to be key to add at deadline.
