Thanks Mondo. Insiders? Many of these so called insiders (reporters) just make stuff up so they seem relevant. They need clicks or readership to keep their jobs. I'm dismayed why so many "fans" believe what these reporters say. Also so many fans believe what a GM says in a press conference, as if a GM what lay out his trade, or contract negotiation plan in full view.

If you remember a number of years ago Al Strachan who was a writer for the Toronto Star, had gig of Hockey Night in Canada called the "The Insiders". Well he reported something that was said in the Board of Governors meeting, though the meeting was secret (the owners only). Mike Milbury challenged Strachan, and told him (and the audience) that Strachan has no such information. No one in that meeting had told him anything. Strachan refused to name "his source". Milbury persisted, said there was no source just a made a story by Strachan. Strachan never appeared again on HMIC..

I'll repeat, "Why do fans believe such BS from reporters or folks in front of a microphone". Just think for yourself. Is it reasonable at all that a middling winger on. 5.5m X 5 year contract would have any trade value at all?
