I wouldn't give up that haul for Toews. 1st + Grans + Kupari was proposed yesterday. I'd do that, but not this.

Spence broke out last season, Turcotte is still good just regularly injured which has caused a delay, add a 1st + 2nd for 2 seasons of Toews. That is too much. The Kings gave a 1st and Faber for Fiala at 7 years, so yes, this is too much.

Toews is a way better player than Fiala. Holding onto Turcotte comes with it's new found caveats, and I wouldn't call Spence's season a breakout

I wouldn't pay that for Horvat (I know he is good, but he is 27) and will be 28 when contract expires. Not the best situation to contact negotiate if you are COL.
I would go for Dvorak in MTL instead, cheaper (not as good) and younger with a contract for two years longer than Horvat.
Kings should do that but they need to move money.
As for Mason to VAN I like it, I am not sure what VAN would be willing to pay but he next to Hughes could be really something

That's not the point, are the Kings in a point where they trade multiple assets to open a cup window? Does Toews make the Kings a cup team? Why trade 3-4 high tier assets for 2 seasons of Toews unless you believe the Kings are a cup team after getting Toews.

Not until I see Cal Petersen step up into being a better goalie. We aren't far off, but like Colorado we might already have the pieces in house, no need to rush just yet. Blake has been pretty saavy about trading from areas of abundance to address areas of need. This is close, but the Kings have other options if this is the ask and options they could sign longer term.

Newhook is almost certainly not getting traded. He's our future 2C. Horvat is also a UFA, so unless Vancouver can promise a cheap extension for him, I'm not sure I want him (I don't want to pay our top 2 centers nearly 20M).

For 2 seasons of Toews and then walking to FA, I’d trade a 1st possibly a 2nd and a highly touted prospect but that doesn’t seem beneficial to Colorado so it wouldn’t happen I’m sure
