Terry expires under RFA status while Nylander exits under UFA. If for any reason you can't or don't want to resign Terry you can flip his rights to regain draft capital or players. He is due a significant raise but last rumor was he was looking for 7 mil. Even then he is still a bit cheaper than Nylander, and will definitely be cheaper than Nylander asks for in another years time. So long as he stays north of 50 pts/ season, it helps Toronto get less top heavy while maintaining scoring output, and it gets some value for Nylander who otherwise walks next season for greener pastures.

I think it’s fair but i can see a prospect being included since that seems up Dubas’s alley especially with how the cap is looking & the Sandin situation, do you think if Dubas asks for LaCombe & includes the Leafs 3rd rounder , the trade falls through?
