I don’t see a world where Verbeek pays to help the Likers cap and take Foegele

I dunno. Foegele is a solid player. EDM is silly to move him IMO.

A 4th and a 6th might as well be for free IMO. Anything less than 3rd for a player are basically random poker chips you're gambling with to hopefully draft some NHL level depth.

I honestly believe Foegele is the next Coleman or even Lehkonen. He's a big physical winger with decent wheels and solid two-way game who I think could wind up being a 20G guy. That's just me though. If the Pens had the cap space, I'd offer a 3rd for him. I think EDM moving him would be a massive mistake. He's someone who should get a chance at a more elevated role.

Broberg is going to be in the lineup before KoekKoek will be. And Malone before Shore.

Okay okay, I guess if Silfverberg stays on IR or LTIR he could be a decent replacement?

I wouldn't recommend an untested backup and Campbell as your goalies. Campbell is good but isn't likely to play 60+ games. You would need Skinner to play 30+ to ensure he doesn't get hurt a lot - see TO last year.

I think he's better than Silfverberg, so yes. Plus, he's only 26 years old, so he's really on track to be part of you guys exiting your rebuild.

Not going to lie, looked him up and check him out, I’d surely take him

I think that's the plan: to play Skinner in ~30 games and Campbell in ~50. It's not the best goaltending duo in the league but it's better than what Colorado, Vegas and St Louis have, which is what really matters.

If this team is healthy in the playoffs, there's no reason they can't go all the way. Broberg definitely plays over Koekkoek though, and I'm pretty sure Samorukov is the 7th defenseman.

Also, I'd like to see Bourgault before the deadline, pushing Shore off the roster.

Yeah, if EDM is silly enough to move him, especially at a cost like that? Jump and don't look back lol. I remember first noticing him a few years ago when CAR knocked WSH out of the playoffs and he stood out to me the entire series.

Honestly I'd be shocked if the Oilers go into game 1 with this roster. There are too many good UFA's left, there's no reason not to sign two and push Shore and Malone down.

Campbell is great until he is overplayed. If Skinner falters, that's a big risk. Campbell was a top 5 goalie in the first few months of 21-22. He was very good against Montreal and Tampa. He just wasn't good enough against 2 of the best goalies in the league. Like Toronto - it's good enough to get 2-3 rounds in, but likely not enough to win.

It's a risk every team has, and one that Edmonton has mitigated by signing Calvin Pickard, a veteran of 116 NHL games who carries a .903 career save percentage.

Edmonton went to the 3rd round riding an injured 40 year old Mike Smith. This is most certainly an upgrade. That combined with the fact the their comp (COL mainly) has downgraded in several key areas over the summer means that there's no reason to doubt Edmonton's ability to go all the way.

Definitely an upgrade and if healthy - will be a great help. But he gets hurt a lot. He is lights out for 40 games - but 50+ playoffs might be too much based on his track record. Toronto is weaker after losing him for sure unless Murray / Samsonov suddenly improve.
