Leaving out Hughes and Ekblad - Montour and Forsling are both miles better than anyone else on VAN D. Florida’s D is average at worst.

Forsling and Ekman-Larsson are around the same caliber, and Montour is around the same caliber as Myers and Schenn

Keep in mind Florida was a much more offensively gifted team last year than Vancouver

A big reason for that is they have a ton of mobile offensive minded defenseman who can move the puck , like Forsling , montour, ekblad

We will probably have to get carried by Demko again. We had this same d-core last season and we were like top 3 in least amount of even strength goals against

Also, Florida’s D-core isn’t that bad

Depends how their offense does. They lost Gaudreau and Tkachuk and gained Huberdeau. They lost basically 100 points. Their defense is very good so only time will tell

Besides Tanev, none of Calgary's defenseman are particularly great at in-zone defending. Their strengths come more from defending the rush and breaking up plays in that sort of context

Their D-core is pretty questionable. Besides Forsling and Ekblad to a certain extent, they don't have very many defensive defenseman. Marc Staal is pretty much washed up
