Dom's model is not too thrilled with him. Though Jfresh seems to like him quite a bit. That said he is LD and of almost no use to us.

Yeah, gonna be interesting what the Jackets do with Gavi

This package posted is probably equal to Severson, Muhkamadulin, and a 1st from New Jersey. In fact, I would say this package is better since Gavrikov is a better player.

Gavrikov seems to be the so unbelievably underrated on this site and I have no idea why. Legit Two-way top pairing guy. Big, mobile, and very smart with and away from the pick

According to Dom's model he is abysmal. Jfresh paints a different story. The biggest problem is he is a LD and therefore has almost no use to the Canucks especially in a Miller deal. Severson is RD and at worst as good as Gavrikov. Positional advantage though. Shakir and Corson are similar value prospects. Positional advantage to Corson. And a first round pick from NJ. Even without the pick I'd go with the Severson package.

What if I told you that left shot defenseman can still play the right side and valuing one player over another based on handedness alone is a great away to build a mediocre team

Just looked at Dom's model on the athletic. It's what I use when I haven't watched a player. It's pretty reliable.

Dom's model is bigger joke than the thought of him as credible writer. He has Gabriel Carlsson as being worth $2.4M. Any GM willing to pay him that kind of money should be fired on the spot.

I do not believe you've ever looked at his advanced stats or even regular stats considering how far off you are on them. You've also admitted you've never seen him play. Why are you even commenting on the guy?

Don't bother with him, all he seems to want to do is start needless arguments by stating false facts

I mean every model will have outliers. I would say it is really quite useful. Always thought he was a really smart hockey mind.

I would say you would be wrong 90% of the time. That is my guess at how many of the how many NHL defenseman play both sides of the ice equally well, or at least at a comparable level. It might be higher than that. Handedness is a proxy generally for the side of the ice they play. Building a team without thinking about positions is a great way to built a mediocre team.

Lol, your “guess” eh? Well as long as we’re being objective. Hopefully Canucks management hires you so you can make a few more guesses on what it takes to build a roster

It more accurate than your assumption that you can just play any player on either side. How many Canucks in the last 10 yrs have played significant minutes on both sides for instance?
