Why not do a deal involving Boeser-for-Marino this off-season?

Why are the Devils making this deal? This doesn't make sense.

Sharangovich is a good winger, and we will have solid depth of Hamilton, Marino, Nemec next year...not smart to trade for a guy with two years left for that level of depth and talent.

Fitz just struck gold with Siegenthaler reupping. Hes not giving up Marino. They have their shutdown pair now

I don't think the Devils are going to be fully contending until Nemec and Hughes are top 4 D in the NHL, although they could steal a playoff spot. Having Marino for the next four years is pretty much redundant when Nemec, Hughes, Siegenthaler and Hamilton is your future top 4 when they contend, especially with Casey and Makkamaduhlin on RHD depth. By the time they are contending Hamilton will still have 3 years on his deal and this trade gives them that top 6 scoring power if they re sign boeser, and Dermott is a good long term 3rd pair for them. They will still be good in 2 years if the trade doesn't happen but if it does it solidifies their top 6 and allows the young guys to develop with middle 6 rolls.

I don’t understand the point of including Hoglander and Zetterlund. Seems like a wash there.

Many of these VAN/NJD should just be simplified to winger for dman.
