Toronto in a sea of flames would be a great cover story if this happens. Engvall is at best a 3rd liner. There is no way he becomes a star.

You need to get up to speed and realize that Engvall actually scored 15 goals last year playing with Kampf as his centre who has limited offensive abilities in a total shutdown role with no PP time.

Now how many goals do you think Engvall might get playing with John Tavares as his centre and William Nylander a playmaking winger and some second line PP time and I can assure you it is way more than 15 goals.

Comparing Hall of Famer Frank Mahovlich to Pierre Engvall. I've seen it all now. 🤡

You need to understand that a lot of forwards in the NHL were tremendous offensive players before they were drafted and then are molded into roles and positions in the NHL.

i actually think he could be the low cost solution to the Leafs need for a second line leftwinger and also provide the size and defensive abilities to help both Tavares and Nylander......He can also take some faceoffs away from Tavares.

For those that can remember. Frank was a "star" with the Leafs in the early sixties. His production went down...though maybe Coach Imlach is partially to blame. But Frank was literally booed out of town and in 1968 was traded to Detroit. He had a few good years with the Canadiens.
I like Engvall was what he is, but if the Leafs are depending on him to be a goal scorer, then it going to be a long season in LeafLand.

The Big M was a super star leftwinger for the Leafs who won 4 Stanley Cups with the Leafs and who Punch Imlach (Coach) rode him to hard and drove him out of Toronto.........Traded to the Wings in one of the biggest trades in NHL history when he was sent to Detroit with Pete Stemkowski, Gary Unger and rights to Carl Brewer for Norm Ullman, Paul Henderson, Floyd Smith and Doug Barrie and played on a great line on the Wings with Gordie Howe and Alex Delvecchio.........He was later traded by the Detroit Wings to the Montreal Canadiens where he won two more Cups playing on some great Canadiens teams.

Mahovlich scored 533 goals and 570 assists over 18 seasons in the NHL.

"Mahovlich was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 1981. He was enshrined into Canada's Sports Hall of Fame in 1990. In 1997, The Hockey News ranked him 26th on their list of 100 Greatest Hockey Players."

His skating was incredible for a big man and poetry in motion to watch as a hockey fan.

It isn't a bad option if they have Tavares and Nylander together because of Tavares lack of speed and Nylanders lack of effort. But his job on the line would be defense first. Imo
